What’s the Course About?
This course is all about building confidence to make music socially. You'll learn how to perform solos and duets with ease, improvise in a fun and relaxed way, and play chords to accompany songs—like Happy Birthday or Christmas carols.
What Will We Cover?
– Practical tools for relaxed, secure performance
– Easy group improvisation
– Reading and playing from chord sheets and lead sheets for singalongs
What Will You Gain?
By the end, you’ll be able to:
– Perform a solo and duet musically and enjoyably
– Improvise with others
– Accompany singing using chords
How Will It Be Taught?
Friendly, hands-on sessions with a mix of demos, group work, and individual attention. Practice rooms will be available throughout.
Do I Need to Prepare?
You’ll be emailed a handout on chords in advance. Please bring your chosen solo(s) and a book of easy duets if you have one.
What Should I Bring?
Your solo piece(s), a duet book (if you have one), and an iPad if you like using one for sheet music.
