Piano Weekend for Intermediate to Advanced Piano Players
Fri 14 January (early evening arrival) - Sun 16 January (4.00pm departure) 2022
Tutor: Lucinda Mackworth-Young
With her life-long experience of working with adult learners of all ages and stages, and love of piano playing, Lucinda specialises in creating a mutually supportive atmosphere in which everyone can focus on achieving their own personal goals.
Course participants are requested to bring one or more solos from the repertoire they are currently studying, of any genre or style (classical, light, pop, jazz, show time), and Lucinda will work with you to prepare your piece(s) for a musically inspiring and anxiety-free performance, drawing on her own deep knowledge and experience of piano performance, musicianship and psychology.
Each participant will also have the opportunity to play piano duets and trios, and Lucinda will teach everyone how to play the piano without books - improvising and accompanying songs spontaneously (Yes! Everyone can do it!).
The weekend will end with an informal private concert just amongst ourselves, giving every course participant the opportunity to perform a solo(s), duet and trio in an encouraging enviroment.
The course is suitable for intermediate to advanced players, and provides a particularly good opportunity for trying out your grade or Diploma performance programme.
Please bring the piano books that you are currently working on. Further books (including many simple duet and trio books) will be available to borrow or buy during the weekend.
Resident single en-suite: £395; Resident single standard: £365;
